“I believe life is constantly testing us for our level of commitment, and life’s greatest rewards are reserved for those who demonstrate a never-ending commitment to act until they achieve. This level of resolve can move mountains, but it must be constant and consistent. As simplistic as this may sound, it is still the common denominator separating those who live their dreams from those who live in regret.” Tony Robbins
Heather Cannon is the Founder of Women In Rodeo. She’s a small town girl who grew up riding horses, hunting, fishing, showing steers & very active in 4H and FFA. She’s loved rodeo since she was a little girl and couldn’t be more excited to carve her own niche in the industry. Heather’s Country Girl Glitz Fashion Consulting business blessed her more than she ever expected. It inspired her to start the Women In Rodeo Radio Show. Women In Rodeo is a leader in the rodeo industry, bringing education and motivation to women in the sport of rodeo across the globe. When she launched in August 2015 the show came out of the chute as the 2nd most listened to show on the Horse Radio Network, with over 16k listeners. In one year her social media grew to 18.9k connections on Instagram and continues to grow rapidly. Heather has over 65k connections across social media. Carving her own niche in the rodeo industry has brought her three wonderful accomplishments… first, she was given the opportunity to be part of the National Finals Rodeo media team. She was given media passes and the chance to interview World Champion Barrel Racer, Callie Duperier. You can find that interview on the Women In Rodeo YouTube Channel. Second, in 2015 she secured her first National Sponsor, the RAM National Circuits Finals Rodeo in Kissimmee, Florida. And lastly, she was nominated as “Best on Air” in Tampa, Florida by That Business Show 1250 WHNZ. Heather’s currently blazing her own trail in the industry, launching the Women In Rodeo Networking Group.
As a wife and mother to two beautiful girls, Heather knows first hand the need to CREATE balance in her life. Contrary to popular opinion, Heather doesn’t believe you have to “hustle” all the time to find success. She firmly believe that slow and steady can be the perfect combination for a successful business. Mary Kay Ash set a precedence for her company of God First, Family Second and Career Third. That’s the motto Heather intends to live by. She designed The Women In Rodeo Networking Group to embody this very philosophy, making each meet up a Girls Night Out of fun. Women, especially entrepreneurs, tend to forget to take care of themselves and rarely find time for fellowship. Women In Rodeo Networking events will be a mix of fun and networking to help women grow their business and destress at the same time! As business owners we tend to get stuck in a rut and find ourselves bored. So why not have a fun meetup? At a Women In Rodeo Girls’ Night Out, it’s totally possible to share ideas, make connections and simultaneously have a good time!
Heather’s journey with Women In Rodeo began over 12 years ago. She was a depressed stay-at- home mom, angry at the world because she had completely lost her glitz. Heather knew the Lord had a greater purpose for her and she set out to find out what it was. As a western wear fashion consultant she began to interview rodeo queens for her blog. It wasn’t long before she had the rodeo bug. All her little girl dreams came flooding back and she knew she had to find her place in the industry and find a way to help it grow. She’s thrilled she decided to go back to her roots because that’s how the Women In Rodeo Radio Show was born and now the Women In Rodeo Networking Group. It’s been a wild and fun ride and Heather has never felt more blessed or thankful for the many doors The Lord has opened. With a full and grateful heart, Heather Cannon wishes to thank YOU for following her journey.
